We're Recognizing "Effective Communication Month"

It is officially June. This month does not only bring good weather and a warm breeze, but it is also recognized as Effective Communication Month. The basis of any type of relationship is communication, so although we celebrate it only one month of the year, it is important to practice effective communication all year long. Communication is a fundamental part of the world we live in, specifically the world of business.

Because it is officially Effective Communication Month, now is the perfect time to look into how to communicate effectively by learning the skills required to do so.

There are a number of classes you can take to learn the skills of effective communication. Below are a few opportunities for classes or courses that focus on the education of effective communication.

The Dale Carnegie Course is a training program that teaches effective communication in business. The courses are offered all in a number of locations, making it convenient for you to learn these important communication skills!

The Office of Leadership development at OPM is offering various courses throughout the country that focus on developing communication and leadership skills. Find a course near you to expand your communication skills!
Don't have the time to attend one of these classes? Take a look at these links for a quick lesson on how to effectively communicate.

Improving Communication Skills in Your Work and Personal Relationships
Statistics point to the fact that approximately 85% percent of our success in life is directly attributable to our communication skills.
The key to becoming a skillful communicator is rarely found in what has been taught in the world of academia.
Effective communication helps one avoid conflict and minimize its adverse consequences when it does occur.

Take advantage of this month and learn how to create and maintain strong relations through effective communication.

Tell us about a time when a misunderstanding occurred due to inefficient communication. How did you use effective communication to fix it?
