5 Effective Ways to Get New Customers at Business Events

Do you find it a challenge to getting new customers?

Finding new customers is a challenge for every business and could take different types of strategies.  The most common strategies are face-to-face networking events, social media and the traditional snail mail.

In order to find and attract new customers you must get the visibility your company needs to gain exposure.

If you’re looking to attract new business or service new clients here’s how event marketing can help turn prospects into paying customers.

Give Something Away
Participate in donating a raffle prize giveaway it can lead to new business.  You can donate a service discount or product samples.  Whether the items donated from your company or your purchase it to donate, it can offer your company valuable visibility.

Meeting People
Attending events are a great way to meet people; most people purchase tickets to attend events, why should you do what other do; stand out from the crowd, invest as a sponsor of the event or other marketing opportunities to promote your business at the event to expand your visibility.

Build Relationships
Introduce yourself and business to other attendees, but don’t come off too strong trying to make a sale, your goal is to increase visibility with attendee. Develop a connection and find ways you can help others and in return people would be comfortable referring you customers.

Follow Up
Don’t neglect to follow up those you met or visited your table at the event.  You can follow up with a short “Thank You” email, for visiting your table and expressing interest in your products or services.

Be Consistent
You must be consistent with your event marketing strategies for positive results. Once is not enough to build relationships and referrals for new customers.

Event marketing has allowed me to build my network of professional connections, increased my referral base and increased my sales.

4 Ways to Build Your Small Business Brand Awareness

Did you know that branding is just as important for small businesses as it is for large corporations?

Many small business owners I talk to understand that branding is essential to their business, but a surprisingly high number of them don't really know why.

Branding is a way of defining your business to yourself, your team and your external audiences. It could be called the business’ “identity”.

The foundation of your brand is your logo. Your website, packaging and promotional materials--all of which should integrate your logo and communicate your brand.

Event marketing can be an integral part of how you can build your company’s brand and increase awareness.

So what do you need to do?

  1. Get a great logo. Event marketing allows you to showcase your business logo on the event marketing materials such as email blasts, calendar postings and event fliers.
  2. Develop a tagline. Use event marketing to share your company’s memorable, meaningful and concise statement that captures the essence of your brand.
  3. Design creative marketing materials (business cards, brochures etc…). Promote your company’s marketing materials at business events. Use the same color scheme, logo placement, look and feel throughout. You don't need to be fancy, just consistent.
  4. Be consistent. You must be consistent with your event marketing strategies for positive results. Once is not enough to build your brand awareness.

Event marketing has allowed me to build my network of professional connections, increased my referral base and increased my sales.

5 Benefits to Giving Back To Your Community This Thanksgiving

Giving back is the easiest most rewarding way to help someone else. There are a number of ways business owners and entrepreneurs can give back to their community this holiday.

There are a variety of benefits to you and your company when giving back to your community this holiday.  Below is 5 ways you can benefit:

  1. Giving back improves a company's brand awareness with community members and employees who live and work in the area.
  2. Giving back can foster growth in a company or for an entrepreneur by providing an opportunity to listen and learn from the community (what it wants, what it needs, and what it means to give). The act of giving back doesn’t have to proceed without thought of what the company needs or even what the company desires to give.
  3. Giving back, especially on an individual level (such as tutoring, mentoring a child or volunteering in a soup kitchen), is good for your health.
  4. Maybe you’re looking for a career change or a career boost, a volunteer opportunity would be a great and beneficial way to begin.
  5. Having a stake in the community means coming in contact with community members who may often be overlooked, ignored, or outright scorned depending on their situations.

Business organizations like Westchester Networking for Professionals decided to give back this holiday by hosting a Thanksgiving Food Drive, collecting non perishable food items and a Membership Drive which they will donate 15% of new membership enrollments the organization receives back to a local charity that helps homeless and needy families in the area.

What will you be doing this holiday season to give back to your community? Please feel free to share your thoughts below in the comment section.
